Advice Process.
The aim of any financial adviser should be to fully understand your goals, your needs and your values and then formulate a well defined strategy. Of course, in order to move forward, it is important that both parties have a clear understanding of the roadmap ahead. Typically, we adhere to the following advice process for the majority of clients ...
Initial Consultation – learning more about each other
Our objective is to deliver relevant and targeted financial services to you in a timely and cost effective manner on an ongoing basis. To that end, our advice process always begins with a discussion and the development of your personal goals and objectives or ‘blueprint’, probably the most important component of any serious financial plan. Taking the time to formulate a clear vision statement will also provide greater depth and meaning to your investment decisions both now and into the future. At the conclusion of this meeting, we’ll be able to indicate to you whether we can assist. Before engaging our services, you are provided with a written fee estimate based on the scope of work involved and the complexity of your financial situation. We do not charge fees for initial consultation meetings.
Analysis & Documented Strategy
Once you have formally given us the approval to move forward, we begin the research and analysis phase, including the production of an individually designed financial review or ‘Statement of Advice’. This document will initially form the basis of most investment and lifestyle decisions going forward and will also address key areas such as your goals/objectives, investment (including superannuation) strategy, cash-flow, debt management, taxation, estate planning, social security and insurance.
Plan Presentation Meeting
Assuming your needs are not overly complicated, this would be your second meeting. At this meeting your adviser presents his/her recommendations, taking you through your strategy on a step-by-step basis, from concept to implementation. This is also another opportunity for clients to not only ask questions but to also make any necessary adjustments to the overarching strategy.
Implementation Meeting
At this third meeting you are ready to proceed with our advice and complete the necessary documentation with us, including possible collaboration with other professionals.
Ongoing Reviews & Communications
Beyond initial investment or superannuation advice, it is critical to ensure that your personal strategy remains on track. Each year we will meet at agreed intervals to benchmark progress against your stated objectives. Of course, we will also keep you informed of any relevant changes and market developments on an ongoing basis.
